Johya buys its emeralds in Colombia, in hand, from identified sellers in the Boyacá region and on the Bogotá marketplace. There is no wholesaler between the mine and your workshop, and no parcel bought from photos. Each stone is weighed at purchase, cut, then certified by an independent gemological laboratory, with its degree of treatment written as the laboratory measured it. For a jeweler looking for a reliable emerald supplier, that changes two things. The price pays for the stone and its verification, without the usual chain of middlemen. And the sheet you hand to your client is true from the first word to the last.
How to work with Johya
The process is simple. You write to us with your company, your registration number and your need, a weight, a shape, a hue, a budget per stone or per lot. We reply with a selection from stock, trade prices on quotation, or we note your search for the next buying trip to Colombia if nothing matches. Before any commitment, the stone is viewed on a video call, in hand and in daylight, or at a meeting in Paris. Payment is made at handover or at shipping, insured and against signature.
For European Union buyers with a valid intra-community VAT number, the invoice is issued net of tax under the reverse-charge mechanism once our own number is validated in the VIES register, which is in progress. French jewelers receive a standard pre-tax invoice. We handle the single stone for a ring order as well as the small calibrated lot for a series, within the limits of what we actually find at the source. We never promise a calibration we have not seen.
What you receive with each stone
Each emerald leaves with its laboratory certificate, whose number can be checked with the issuing laboratory, and with its traceability file, photos of the rough and of the cutting when they exist, weights recorded at each stage, name of the dealer in Colombia. The degree of treatment appears on the invoice as on the product sheet, under our treatment disclosure policy, which covers you under French decree 2002-65 when you resell the mounted stone. The journey of an emerald, from Colombia to France, details each documented step. On request, we provide unretouched macro photos for your own product pages. The Verify my stone page lets your end client find the file from the number engraved on the stone's booklet. Available stones are visible on the Colombian emerald collection, prices shown including tax, and our selection method details every check carried out before a stone goes on sale.
