GUIDE DES TAILLES

Trouver sa taille.

The stone first

A bespoke emerald ring that starts with the stone

A bespoke ring is drawn around one particular stone. You start from one of our Colombian emeralds, chosen by hand in Muzo, Chivor, Coscuez or on the Bogotá market. Each one has its own page, with its exact weight, its dimensions, its degree of treatment and a video in natural light.

Once you pick it in the stock panel of the configurator, its shape, weight and shade carry over to the 3D view, and its price including VAT appears under the quotation. If the stone for your project is not in stock, we look for it in Colombia.

The gold

Emerald ring in 18k gold, yellow, white or rose

All three golds are 18 karat, that is 750 parts per thousand of pure gold. The choice is made by eye first, looking at the stone resting on the metal.

The configurator summary estimates the gold weight from the band width, its profile and your finger size. It is a guide for the quotation, and the actual weight is measured on the finished ring.

Yellow gold

It warms the green and suits frank, bright emeralds. It is the most classic pairing, the one of antique rings.

White gold

Usually rhodium-plated, it isolates the color and flatters cooler greens, such as the bluish shades associated with Chivor.

Rose gold

It softens the whole and gives a gentler ring, with less contrast between the metal and the stone.

The setting

A setting that protects the emerald

Emerald resists scratching well (7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale), but it dislikes knocks, especially at the corners and along its jardin. A bezel surrounds the whole girdle with a rim of gold. V-prongs cover the corners of an emerald cut and the tip of a pear. A low setting exposes the stone less in everyday wear, while a high setting lets more light through.

The diamonds (single or double halo, pavé on the band, hidden halo under the stone) can be natural or lab-grown. A matching wedding band can be designed at the same time, so the two rings sit flush against each other.

Bespoke emerald ring, frequently asked questions

How much does a bespoke emerald ring cost?

The price depends first on the emerald. Each stone in stock shows its price including VAT, in the configurator and on its page. Gold, any diamonds and the workmanship are added and costed in the quotation once the design is approved.

Can a bespoke emerald ring be an engagement ring?

Yes. Emerald resists scratches well (7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale), but it is sensitive to knocks. For an engagement ring worn every day, we recommend a bezel setting or a halo, which protect the corners of the stone. The technical drawing is submitted to you before anything is made.

Can I choose an emerald that is not in stock?

Yes. Describe the stone you want in the custom search. We reply the same day, within 24 hours at most, and the search stays free until the stone is found and filmed.

Which gold should I choose for an emerald ring?

All three golds are 18 karat. Yellow gold warms the green, white gold brings out cooler, bluish greens, and rose gold gives a softer contrast. The configurator shows all three on your ring.

How do I find my ring size?

French sizes correspond to the inner circumference of the ring, in millimeters. The size guide in the configurator gives the equivalent diameter and US and UK sizes. Without a reliable measurement, tick the box for an unknown size and we will confirm it with you before making.

How should I care for an emerald ring?

Lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush are enough. Avoid ultrasonic baths, steam and household products. Most emeralds are oiled, and these cleaning methods can remove the oil.
